Itinerario – LISBOA Y NORTE DE PORTUGAL

Day 1 • Lisbon

Arrival at Lisbon airport and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 2 • Lisbon / Sintra / Cabo da Roca / Cascais / Estoril / Lisbon

Breakfast. In the morning, departure for a panoramic tour of the city of Lisbon. We will go to the Belém neighborhood to see some of the most emblematic monuments from the time of the maritime discoveries of the 15th and 16th centuries, such as: the Tower of Belém, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Monument to the Discoverers and the church of the Jerónimos Monastery, also classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. Visit to the Carriage Museum, which houses one of the best and most important collections of carriages and floats in the world. Following the Tagus River, we will pass through the old Alfama neighborhood where we will taste a glass of the famous Port wine.

Return to Marqués de Pombal Square, passing through the monumental Plaza del Comercio, through Rossio Square, the heart of the city, and through Avenida de la Libertad. In the afternoon, departure from Lisbon towards Sintra to visit the Sintra National Palace. Free time in Sintra, where you can discover its famous pastry shop or the handicraft shops. Continuation to Cabo da Roca. We will pass through the Guincho beach and the rocky cliff known as the ‘Boca do Inferno’, until we reach Cascais with its beautiful bay. Return to Lisbon passing through Estoril, where the famous Casino and its Gardens are located. Arrival in Lisbon. Accommodation.

Day 3 • Lisbon / Óbidos / Alcobaça / Nazaré / Batalha / Fátima

Breakfast. Departure at 9:00 a.m. from Lisbon to Óbidos, located inside medieval walls and where its architecture, its crafts and its famous cherry liqueur “ginjinha” stand out. Continuation to Alcobaça, with its imposing Gothic church where the tombs of Don Pedro and Inés de Castro are, known for their legendary love story. Departure to Nazaré, a fishing village and summer beach. Next we will visit the Batalha Monastery, and we will continue to Fatima, world sanctuary of the cult of the Virgin. Accommodation.

Day 4 • Fátima / Coimbra / Aveiro / Porto

Breakfast. Departure to Coimbra. Visit of the University with its Baroque Library. Stop at the Church of Santa Clara, where the tomb of Queen Santa Isabel is located. In the afternoon, we continue to Aveiro, known as “the Venice of Portugal”, where you can taste the traditional sweet “ovos moles”. We end the day in Porto. Accommodation.

Day 5 • Porto / Guimarães / Braga / Porto

Breakfast. Visit of Porto, to discover the Palacio de la Bolsa and its Arab Room, the church of San Francisco, the Ribeira neighborhood where you can see the Filigree goldsmithing. Next, along a route where the green gives its name to the wine, we arrive at Guimarães. On the Sacred Hill is its Royal Castle and the Palace of the Braganças, and in the center, streets and medieval architecture. Stop in Braga where we find the oldest Cathedral in the country and the Bom Jesús Sanctuary with its baroque staircase. Return to Porto. Accommodation.

Day 6 • Porto / Santiago de Compostela / Porto

Breakfast. Departure to Santiago de Compostela, a Spanish city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a pilgrimage center on the Camino de Santiago. Free time in the city to walk through its historic streets, get to know its extraordinary monuments, such as the Cathedral, and try its typical dishes. Return to Porto. Accommodation.

Day 7 • Porto / Amarante / Vila Real / Vale do Duero / Lamego / Viseu / Urgeiriça

Breakfast. We leave for Amarante, with its 16th century Monastery, its colorful wooden balconies and its typical market. We immediately arrived at Vila Real, where we visited the gardens of the Mateus Palace. Later, stop in Lamego, with the Sanctuary of the Virgen de los Remedios and its baroque staircase, where you can taste the traditional “Bola de Lamego”, bread stuffed with ham. We arrive in Viseu, Dão wine region. In the old town, the cathedral, the manor houses and the narrow streets with traditional shops stand out. In the end we arrive at Urgeiriça. Accommodation.

Day 8 • Urgeiriça / Bussaco / Tomar / Lisbon

Breakfast. Departure to Bussaco, where its exquisite vegetation and the old hunting palace of the Royal Family (today converted into a hotel) stand out. Continuation to Tomar, a city attached to the Order of the Templars.

Visit of the Convent of Christ, a symbol of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Lisbon. Accommodation.

Day 9 • Lisbon

Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
