Itinerary – NORTHERN SPAIN

Day 1 • San Sebastián

Arrival at San Sebastián airport (Hondarribia) and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 2 • San Sebastián / Bilbao

Breakfast. Panoramic tour of the city with a local guide. In the oldest part of San Sebastián, the churches of San Vicente and Santa María del Coro await us, one Gothic and the other Renaissance-Baroque.

An old Dominican convent is today the San Telmo Museum, whose archeology, ethnography and painting collections deserve a careful visit. These lively streets will lead us to the porticoed Plaza de la Constitución. In the afternoon, departure to Bilbao. Arrival and accommodation.

Day 3 • Bilbao

Breakfast. In the morning, visit the city with a local guide. The visit begins at the Church of San Nicolás, from where a walk through the oldest part of the town begins. You will visit, among others: The Cathedral of Santiago, the Plaza Nueva, the Mercado de la Ribera, the Arriaga Theater and the Bidebarrieta Library. Then visit the Guggenheim Museum, where an explanation of the architecture and anecdotes of the construction is made, as well as explanations about the exhibitions of the moment.

Day 4 • Bilbao / Castro Urdiales / Santander

Breakfast. Departure to Castro Urdiales. Free time in this typical fishing village. Then departure to Santander. Panoramic tour of the city of Santander with a local guide. We start at the Post Office building, next to the Cathedral. We continue to the Palace of the Embarcadero, to continue on our way to the Club Marítimo and Puertochico. We continue to the Magdalena peninsula, the most emblematic and well-known park in Santander, where the Magdalena Palace is located. We follow the promenade that runs along the coast until we reach the Gran Casino del Sardinero and the Plaza de Italia. Accommodation.

Day 5 • Santander / Santillana / Convadonga / Oviedo

Breakfast. Departure to Santillana del Mar, a beautiful city declared a National Monument. Meeting with the local guide to visit its Collegiate Church and this beautiful town. Santillana del Mar is one of the towns with the greatest historical-artistic value in Spain. Continuation to Covadonga, place of evocative memories of the Reconquest.

Free time to visit the Basilica and the Cave of the Virgin. In the afternoon, departure to Oviedo. Accommodation.

Day 6 • Oviedo / Gijon / Lugo

Breakfast. In the morning, meeting with the local guide for a panoramic tour of the city. Oviedo is a medieval and traditional city, full of history, art and literature, whose essence has remained almost unchanged for centuries. Departure to Gijón. Free time to explore the city on your own. Continuation of the trip to Lugo. Accommodation.

Day 7 • Lugo / La Coruña / Santiago de Compostela

Breakfast. Meeting with the local guide for a panoramic tour of the city. Its physiognomy is marked by the ancient Roman walls of 2130 meters in length that surround it. We will see the Cathedral, the Episcopal Palace and the Plaza del Campo, which preserves its medieval layout. Departure to La Coruña. Panoramic tour with a local guide.

We will arrive at the Tower of Hercules to contemplate the wonderful landscape that surrounds it and we will climb Mount San Pedro, a viewpoint from which a panoramic view of the city is made, being able to observe from it the entrance of the estuaries. Then we go to the Plaza de María Pita to visit the historic center of Coruña, with the Church of Santiago, the Collegiate Church of Santa María, the Church of Barbarás and the wall.

Then departure to Santiago de Compostela. Accommodation.

Day 8 • Santiago de Compostela

Breakfast. In the morning, visit the city with a local guide. The tour runs around the Cathedral and includes monuments such as the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, the Raxoi Palace, the Colegio de San Jerónimo, the Monastery of San Martín Pinario and, of course, the Cathedral itself, both outside as inside. Accommodation.

Day 9 • Santiago de Compostela

Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
